Some new developments are continually increasing electricity consumption and peak demand, and their impacts will keep growing. Excessive energy demand has significant negative environmental and economic impacts. Thus, it is imperative to implement demand response strategies that shift electricity consumption from peak to off-peak periods.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>BEST-Storage aims to achieve the goal of peak load reduction and shifting, energy saving and energy cost minimization. Long and short-term high-energy density storage solutions will be developed and demonstrated in 4 demo cases around Europe.
